A weekend of celebration, sunshine, and time together. Here's how it unfolds, with plenty of room in between to relax and enjoy the resort.
We're kicking off the weekend with a beach bonfire, appetizers, drinks, and some time to hang out before the big day. We'll also be doing our toasts to the bride and groom at the welcome party, so save your sweet (or embarrassing) stories for Friday night.
This one's a blue party! Wear your favorite shade of blue for our “Something Blue Before We Do.”
Little ones are welcome! Children traveling with our invited guests are welcome to join us for the Welcome Party. Since this is a hosted wedding event, attendance is otherwise limited to the guests included on your invitation.
The reason we're all here! Join us on the Seaside Sky Terrace as we exchange vows, followed by cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing in the ballroom. Please include any dietary needs on your RSVP, and remember, no white or black.
A private double-deck catamaran party just for our friends and family! We'll spend the day snorkeling, swimming at a natural pool, listening to music, dancing, and enjoying one last celebration out on the water. Round-trip transportation from the resort is included.
Everyone traveling with our group is welcome to join us! That includes kids and travel companions who may not be attending the wedding. Just make sure everyone who wants to come is included in your RSVP and payment.
Outside of our events, your time is yours. Book an excursion, hang out by the pool, hit the beach, visit the spa, or do absolutely nothing. We want you to enjoy the trip however you want!
Gowns for the ladies, suits for the gentlemen. We want you fashion-forward and glowing. Black-tie energy, tropical soul.
This is your invitation to go all out. Bring the glamour, the color, the accessories, and the looks you've been waiting for an excuse to wear. Lean into soft pastels and keep floral prints to a minimum. If you're wondering whether it's “too much,” it probably isn't.

Meals, snacks, drinks, and nightly entertainment are included. Guests attending the wedding will need to stay at Dreams Macao Beach for full access to our wedding events.
The resort requires a 3-night minimum stay, but if you want to join us for everything, we recommend arriving October 21 or 22 and leaving October 26. The Welcome Party is Friday the 22nd and the catamaran party is Monday the 25th, so plan your flights accordingly!
Private round-trip airport transportation is included when you book through our group. Guests arriving around the same time may be shuttled together; otherwise, you'll have a private transfer. The drive from Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) is about 40 minutes.
Bring a valid passport (6+ months of validity is safest). Guests from the US, UK, St. Lucia, St. Kitts & Nevis, and Jamaica don't need a tourist visa. BVI guests are visa-free on a British passport. Coming from elsewhere? Just check the DR entry rules for your country.
Every traveler must complete the Dominican Republic's free online E-Ticket before arrival and again before departing. It only takes a few minutes at eticket.migracion.gob.do, but don't wait until you're standing at the airport!
Late October is warm and tropical, with sunshine, breezes, and lightweight fabrics. (And a friendly reminder: avoid the sunburn before the big day!)

Meals, drinks, and snacks are included, but gratuities are not. Bring some small bills for tipping. U.S. dollars are widely accepted, so there's no need to exchange a ton of cash just for the resort. You may also want cash for excursions, souvenirs, and the catamaran.

We'll be staying at Dreams Macao Beach Punta Cana, an all-inclusive resort right on the beach. To have full access to our wedding events and everything we have planned at the resort, guests will need to stay on property. Deposit amount, payment schedule, and cancellation terms will be confirmed with our travel planner (booking details coming soon). A $159-per-person deposit reserves your spot, with the balance due by July 28, 2027. Travel insurance is required for our group and is included in your deposit.

Remember, this is your vacation too! There's plenty of free time between our events, so get out and explore, book an excursion, hang out at the resort, or do absolutely nothing. The Dominican Republic's most beloved day trip: sail to a postcard island, swim in the shallow natural pools, and lunch on the beach.
Explore the oldest city in the Americas: the cobblestoned Colonial Zone, the first cathedral in the New World, and centuries of history. A full-day cultural escape (about a 2-hour drive).
Meet and feed friendly squirrel monkeys up close in a lush tropical setting, often paired with a zipline canopy tour. An easygoing favorite for all ages.
An adventure park packed with ziplines, go-karts, horseback riding, and more, a high-energy day out for thrill-seekers and groups.
At Scape Park, wander the jungle to a dazzling turquoise cenote for a refreshing swim beneath the cliffs.

Want to get off the resort for a night? We're planning at least one group night out for whoever wants to come out with us. Drink Point and Infinity Bar & Lounge are right next to each other and play a mix of hip-hop, R&B, Afrobeats, dancehall, reggaeton, and Caribbean music. We'll share the plan once we get closer to the trip.
Or do absolutely nothing. Grab a chair by the pool, hit the swim-up bar, spend the afternoon at the spa, float the lazy river, or post up on Macao Beach. You're on vacation!

Our group rates are per person, all-inclusive, and include round-trip airport transfers. The block is built around the 3-night wedding weekend (Oct 22–25, 2027), and you can add nights on either side. Rates below cover 3 to 7 nights. For a longer stay, just ask Jania.

Rates are per person; the additional-night rate is per person, per night. Child rates (ages 2–12) apply only when sharing a room with two full-paying adults. Preferred Club Junior Suite Swim Out holds up to 3 guests and has no child rate. Dreams Macao has 16 room types in all, so if you'd like something different, just ask and Jania will check availability and pricing.
Travel insurance is required for our group and is included in your deposit. Jania will confirm exact amounts and take payment directly.
Round-trip private group transfers between Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) and Dreams Macao are included when you book with our group. Guests arriving within about 30 minutes of each other may ride together. If no one else in our group is arriving around your time, you'll ride privately.
Want a completely private transfer regardless of other guests' arrival times? You can upgrade for an additional $50 per transfer, each way.
We'd love for everyone to arrive in time to celebrate all weekend! If your schedule allows, we recommend arriving by Friday, October 22 so you can join us for the Welcome Party and enjoy a few relaxing days together before the wedding.

Fourteen years is a lot to fit into a few paragraphs, but we'll try. 😂
It all started in 2012 at the University of the Virgin Islands in St. Thomas, where we met in class as two biology majors. Which class? Depends on who you ask. Fourteen years later, we still don't agree on that part.
We became friends first and eventually started dating in October 2013. In 2014, we both graduated from UVI, just on different islands. Renata invited Mahlik to her graduation, and Mahlik… did not do the same. Twelve years later, this remains one of our favorite completely unnecessary arguments.
After graduation, we tried long distance for a little over six months before deciding that wasn't for us. In December 2014, Renata moved to St. Croix, and in June 2016, we got Diesel, our first and only baby so far. He was with us through so much of our life together and officially made us a little family of three.
In October 2018, we packed up our life in the Virgin Islands and moved to Raleigh, North Carolina. The years that followed brought a lot of change. Mahlik made his way through a few different careers while always supporting Renata as she built her real estate career and chased one entrepreneurial idea after another. Somewhere along the way, we really did grow up together.
Our story hasn't always been a straight line, though. In 2022, we broke up, but apparently neither of us was very good at actually leaving the other person's life. We stayed incredibly close and, somewhere between “exes” and best friends, never really stopped being us.
Then 2024 changed a lot. We lost Diesel, and grieving him together brought us closer in a way we never expected. A few months later, Renata got dengue and was convinced she was on her deathbed. Mahlik was there through all of it. Somewhere in the middle of loss, healing, and taking care of each other, we found our way back. We couldn't tell you the exact day we officially started dating again, but at some point, it stopped mattering.
Eventually, it was time for the next chapter, and somehow it brought us right back to St. Croix.
On our first trip there together since moving to Raleigh, we went to one of our favorite beaches at sunset. While Renata was busy admiring the view, Mahlik came up beside her and dropped to one knee. After all those years, all those chapters, and one very long-running conversation about marriage, he finally asked.
The answer was obviously yes.
When we look back at the last fourteen years, we've done a lot of life together. We've grown up, moved countries, changed careers, built businesses, traveled the world, lost people we love, started over, found our way back to each other, and built a life that looks very different from anything those two biology majors could have imagined in 2012.
And now we're getting married.
There's still a lot we don't know about what comes next, but that's kind of the point. We're still writing our story, and we can't wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you in Punta Cana.
